Standard Metal Aerospace (SMA) is an accomplished company when it comes to the manufacture of prototypes and test components consisting sheet metal. We utilize various methods depending on the end use of the component and the requirement it must meet. By collaborating with SMA, you can use the method that is most suitable in every case and even combine several methods if necessary. Your time and costs for developing new products will be reduced while at the same time production will be more reliable with fewer problems.

Ease of Implementation -- Quickness with the least incremental engineering effort in implementing the prototype is the goal, but of equal importance is that the prototype must be configured to meet the design requirements, not the design be modified to fit the prototyping capability.

Affordable Cost -- An acceptable cost of prototyping may be different for each design, but SMA has no "higher cost" due to its advanced technology or other major advantages over other methods of prototyping sheet metal designs.

SMA utilizes the latest in CAD/CAM technology in the design, development and manufacture of prototype parts and assemblies and/or production runs, of any level of complexity from simple to the intricately complex. We maintain the latest CNC equipment and forming capabilities, as well as in-house welding and fabrication. Parameters and specifications from our customer's detailed drawings, sketches or example parts are keyed into the system for all C.N.C. operations. A customer can e-mail a drawing by attaching their CAD file to their e-mail message and we gladly assist you in the design and prototype development of your component or product.

Assembly: The components can be tested in complex assemblies to check compatibility with other components.

Function: The components can be tested in different environments.

Design: The Engineering department can review and assess the proper course of implementation into the Standard Metal Aerospace development faze and interface on a continuous basis with your Design Engineers and SMA Engineering design specialist.
